KEISER CORPORATION COMMITS TO PREMIER SPONSORSHIP OF INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL ON ACTIVE AGING

[Fresno, CA; January 14, 2002] -- An active lifestyle is the key to maintaining good health and independence as we age. There are more than 100 million North Americans aged 50 and above, yet this demographic has difficulty finding age-appropriate programs. The newly formed International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) aims to change all that, with the help of partners like Keiser, the award-winning exercise equipment company, and premier sponsor of ICAA.

"We're proud to be a premier sponsor of the ICAA," says Darrin Pelkey, Keiser's vice president of sales and marketing. "We have joined the ICAA in its mission to change the way we age. And, to bring vital information about physical activity and aging to the fitness industry and public at large."

The ICAA aims to raise industry standards and levels of service for the aging market by giving professionals the knowledge and support they need to serve aging members and residents well. As an ICAA platinum sponsor, Keiser will help the ICAA bring cutting edge information, education, resources and tools to meet the wellness needs of the market. By serving this market better, Keiser will empower more facilities and their staff to help people make healthier choices as they age.

An award winning exercise equipment company, Keiser is internationally recognized as a leader in 40+ fitness. Having pioneered pneumatic strength training 20 years ago, Keiser is known for the low impact pneumatic equipment that is ideally suited for deconditioned exercisers as well as professional athletes. Keiser's unique features-air power (easier on joints), resistance controlled by thumb buttons and the ability to increase resistance in one pound increments-has positioned the company as the strength training equipment of choice in over 40 university studies on exercise and aging since 1990.

About the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA)
The ICAA is the only organization in North America dedicated to changing the way we age by uniting and working with professionals in the retirement, assisted living, fitness, rehabilitation and wellness fields. It connects a community of like-minded professionals who share the goals of changing society's perceptions of aging and improving the quality of life for aging baby boomers and older adults within the six dimensions of wellness. The council supports these professionals with education, information, resources and tools, so they can achieve optimal success with this market.
